FOUNDER | TOURNAMENT ANGLER

FROM OBSESSION TO PURPOSE

I caught my first fish at four years old. By ten, I was obsessed with bass fishing and artificial lures—not just catching fish, but understanding why they bit.

That obsession never went away. More than 25 years of tournament fishing later, it still drives the way I fish, compete and think about tackle.

BUILT THROUGH COMPETITION

For more than 25 years, tournament fishing has been where I’ve tested ideas, questioned conventional thinking and learned exactly what I expect from my tackle.

Today, I compete in the Bassmaster Elite Qualifiers, with seven tournament wins and more than 25 Top 10 finishes across Bassmaster, Major League Fishing and NPFL-level events, including winning the 2020 BFL All-American as a co-angler.

Competition has a way of exposing weaknesses in equipment. When one bite can determine an entire tournament, “almost right” isn’t good enough. That standard became the foundation for Maximus.

GOOD ENOUGH WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH

It started in my garage. I was doing what a lot of serious tournament anglers do—ripping the hook out of a tungsten jighead and replacing it with a hook I actually trusted.

Twenty minutes later, I had modified one jighead. I looked at it and thought, I'm not doing this anymore. I'm going to have it made.

That moment became the beginning of Pinnacle—and the idea behind Maximus. If the right product doesn't exist, we're going to build it.

BUILT WITHOUT COMPROMISE

Pinnacle wasn't the end goal. It was the beginning.

I've spent my career around fishing tackle—from competing around the country, traveling the world chasing the biggest and meanest fish on earth, and working closely with major brands across manufacturing and retail. I've seen incredible products, but I've also seen the compromises that keep great ideas from becoming great products.

Wrong sizes. Cheaper components. Hooks, split rings and other components serious anglers replace before a bait ever touches the water.

Maximus exists to do it differently.

When we identify a hole in the market, we're going to obsess over it until we've built the product we want to fish ourselves. No predetermined catalog to fill. No cutting the component that matters most to hit a price point. No accepting “good enough.”

IF IT CARRIES THE MAXIMUS NAME, THERE WILL BE NO SACRIFICE IN QUALITY OR PERFORMANCE.

DRIVEN BY OBSESSION.

Maximus is built for anglers who obsess over the details because we do too. Every product starts with a problem, gets proven on the water, and isn't finished until it's something we trust when one bite can change everything.

No shortcuts. No compromises. No settling.
